A broochfest

There seems to be a little bit of a broochfest happening around crafty blogland, so here's my show and tell!

I try to co-ordinate a brooch to my outfit every day, even if I'm just schlepping about the house. Brooches just seem to make me happy.

  • Top row - Beaded Heart and Flower Brooches by me
  • 2nd Row - Aunty Mabels Handbag & Owl by Betty Jo - Wonderland and Chocolate by Sophie Isobel
  • 3rd Row - Flower by Greenolive, Owl by Hokey, Vintage Diamante Cluster bought from second hand shop in Clunes, INXS badge from the 80's gifted to me from Steph.
  • Bottom Row - Necklace / Badge Combo by Lauren Williams, 3 vintage floral & 1 Pippijoe fabric badge from Starashan.
  • Cluster of badges on the right hand side made by me at Brown Owls last year.
Do you have a little bit of a brooch collecting obsession that you'd like to share?

  2. It's enough to convert any non-brooch person! Not that I wasn't - but you know what I mean!

  3. My Grandma is the brooch queen, I need to get some photos of her stash, she has been wearing and collecting them all her life, and has so many.

  4. Beautiful brooches. I don't have an obsession with brooches, but my mom did for years. When it was time to take her to assisted living where she couldn't take everything, we went through her jewelry one piece and story at a time. It took hours, but it was enjoyable to learn about where she got each piece, who had given it to her, etc..... I wear some of them as pendants and some as brooches, when I remember to look through them and find one to match what I'm wearing.

  10. I wish I had a brooch collection! But I don't own even one! I don't think.
Almost started one the other day at the art gallery.... but thought twice, as I don't think hubby would've appreciated the $180 for a bit of Rita Angus! Gorgeousness though!
    I love your collection!

  15. I don't step outside the house without a brooch!

I felt very naked yesterday when I loaned Krafty Kuka my brooch so you could cover the noodle stain on her chestage! I had to rush home and pin another brooch on.

Just as well my collection is embarassingly sizeable, hey!

  21. I am a brooch gal. I don't do earrings very well, so brooches are my alternative.

These are all lovely, enough to make any brooch loving gal green with envy.

  23. I got out of the habit of wearing brooches when I had my first baby cos they can be a bit scratchy for them, for some reason I never got back into wearing them again. I think now is the time to start!

  24. Oh, I made a really cute (if I doo say so myself) brooch for my friend a few weeks ago, but forgot to take a photo before I gave it to her.

Brooches are so fun. It's so true.
