My green thumb

I promised that I'd elaborate on my gardening skills after sharing last weeks green corner.

This
is what my backyard looked like when I moved in.

It's taken me an entire six months of hard toil in the garden, sweating, labouring, getting callouses and blisters......

this!

So what do you think? Impressive eh!

Edit: There seems to be a bit of confusion sorry.... these are all weeds. I craft. I don't garden.

  3. It's been too cold to be doing anything outside since you've been there.

  4. hehe! wow, your weeds are looking so lush and healthy! great job! I actually have the amazing ability to kill weeds even, so you're doing better than me!!

  5. Niiice! at least they're out the back- my nature stip looks like this, it's how I give directions to the house: "It's the one with the weeds". The neighbour has developed a nervous tick ;)

  6. Haha - well done! You need a pet goat to keep those weeds at bay!

  7. Thankfully our rent pays for a gardener once a fortnight.

  8. There is certainly more texture, more shades of green and more species growing there than 6 months ago...good work!

  9. I'm looking on the (greener, which means cooler to look at in summer) bright side. At least you have the right shade of thumb!

now I think you must have bought the wrong spray at the hardware...

  15. Don't forget that the definition of a 'weed' is simply a plant that is considered unwanted or a nuisance in its current environment. Are these plants choking out any local vegetation? I think not! Therefore, they are not weeds, but a beautiful wild garden.
    Hmmm. Convincing...

  18. Congratulations. That is a fabulous garden. I can see you really have a green thumb. One thing I am worried about though is that it looks like you used half of Melbourne's water supplies to get it this green. That is not wise because there won't be any water for the summer if you keep this up. Hugs Cherrie

  27. If you're paying a gardener I think you're wasting your money! Oh I could sooo work wonders on that little patch....
