Flaming Dodo

After receiving my digitally printed fabric from Spoonflower a couple of weeks ago, I decided to have a play around with a repeating pattern.

This is the first test swatch for Flaming Dodo (as my drawing looks somewhat like a cross between a Flamingo and a Dodo).

Now that I'm happy with the repeat, I can start fiddling with background colours..... and I also have some brand new drawings on the horizon which I think will make fabulous fabric. I'm just waiting for some more test swatches to arrive in a linen / cotton blend before I order myself some yardage. How exciting!

  1. Spoonflower rocks!

I have vague memories of a similar type of venture starting up in Australia. Can't remember who through though at this point. Will have a hunt around if you are interested.

  7. You don't muck around, do you!?

I like the dodo ... looks like a bush turkey ... but I'll get over that.

I like the orange and green ... would make a great kid's pillowcase!

  11. Should it not be a flaming gallah?? There's where my knowledge of Australiana stops though - too much Neighbours watching when I was younger!
