My sister received this cool
Big Pineapple tea-towel for christmas from her step-mother-in-law.
I was supposed to make her an apron months and months ago, so I suggested that we turn the tea-towel into an apron so that she can use it.

It's actually the perfect size for an apron.... I just added some spotty fabric (thanks
Cathy) at the sides to make it a bit wider, shaped the top, and then trimmed it all with bias tape before adding some straps. It fits her perfectly!
That is one very cool Apron. I think you had better make some of those for market.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea, this is the sort of crafting story I love reading about.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea! Looks fabulous. The Big Pineapple is about a half-hour drive from home. (haven't been there for years though).
ReplyDeleteI like it!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat repurpose Cam! Love a teatowel repurpose...!
ReplyDeleteThat looks fantastic! couldn't think of a better way to re-purpose a big pineapple teatowel :)
ReplyDeleteWow you are so good! and creative. If only I had the brain space to be adventureous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea... why didn't I think of that!!??!!! I have a historical family teatowel (from a big family reunion a few years ago) that I feel is too good to use to wipe dishes with... maybe an apron would be more fitting! You are so clever!
ReplyDeleteExcellent!!! (And the spot fabric is a perfect match for the green in the print!!). Lovin' it.
ReplyDeleteI love your apron, very cooL!
ReplyDeleteNice one! Fab tea towel and fab idea to turn it into an apron. Love it!

That's so cool!!! What a great idea!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! What a great way to make the most of the tea towel. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteThat looks brilliant!
ReplyDeleteIt goes really well with the polka dot fabric. If that was my tea towel I certainly wouldn't have wanted to just wipe dishes with it.
Very cool! Love this, and now it'll be used - well done, great idea!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
oh wow you are a mind reader. I keep getting teatowels from my mum and theyre so expensive I just cannot use them on dishes. I started tinkering with my 2009 topics and one was on refashioning cool tea towels. This is something I am definately going to have a go at.
ReplyDeleteCheers
That looks so awesome! :) I think I may have to do the same to some of my retro teatowels.
ReplyDeleteI've been to see the "big pineapple" on my only trip to Oz, about 6 years ago - boy does time fly!
Cool! I sent someone a t-towel and she likes it so much she doesn't want to use it for dishes! I will suggest an apron to her! x
ReplyDeleteWow, I have this same tea towel! I will never look at it the same way now.
