I'd been meaning to make her a purse since I did Nikki's purse frame class last year, but I just never got around to it..... until last night.
I was just hammering the frame to finish it off at around 8 PM when there was a knock at the door.... and she walked in. Talk about perfect timing!

It's gorgeous! Love those colours and patterns, they work well together :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colours. Some of my favourite combinations :) How do you hammer your purse frames without marking them? Me and Crafty Librarian were reading the instructions a few weeks ago and were a bit confused :S This one looks great though!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric you used!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of purse frames, I've just never gotten around to making one yet, just how hard is it?
love the colour...and really good timing...
ReplyDeletei bet she loved it...
every purse should have a polka dot lining
ReplyDeleteGreat purse Cam. I've got one sitting there but haven't hammered it yet. How do you do yours?
ReplyDeleteOww I love this! I have one of Nikki's kits sitting there to try when I have a moment to do things on my "important but nice" list! I am also a bit nervous about it! I was going to use this fabric - the black/purple bat fabric - http://alittlebitofkaos.blogspot.com/2008/12/kokka-bat-shoes.html
ReplyDeleteYes I love my purse! And perfect purple colour, just what I like!! Thanks Curlypops....
ReplyDeleteLittle Sister...x
The purse looks great! I have only dreamed of using metal frames; I can only imagine bad corners and fabric not staying where it should.
ReplyDeleteWoww..its beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteMimi here, another crafty blogger.:)I am looking for a sewing machine..which would you recommend? And any pointers on whereI can find one?
How good is that purse!!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you making more for your shop?
cute purse! that's something I want to learn to make.
ReplyDeleteMimi - I'm certainly not an expert but if you're just starting out then it may be worth just buying a cheap second hand machine (Janome / Elna) to learn the basics. I started out with an old Janome with nothing fancy, just straight / zig zag stitch. You can usually find them on Ebay for a reasonable price.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet she was thrilled!
ReplyDeletewhat a cute little purse!
ReplyDeletethe colours of the 2 different fabrics go really well together. looks great :D
ReplyDeleteAdorable...it will be a hit for sure!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab sister and what a fab purse!
ReplyDeleteThere is an award over on my blog for you.
You've got to love a project that involves both the sewing machine and a hammer!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely gift. The prints you used look fabulous - its a really pretty purse.
Fab, Cam! I'm glad your sister liked it, too!
