After reading Liz's post yesterday, I couldn't help but chuckle and take of photo of these.I first spotted them at the local oppy a few weeks ago. I knew that I wanted them, but I just didn't know what to do with them, so I very slowly walked away.
Of course, as soon as I got home I was kicking myself.
A week later I went back and they were still there..... hallelujah!
They're actually Weight Watchers Recipe Cards from 1974 (what a great year...ahem).
I picked out just a few of my favourites. Is it just me, or do the photos actually put you off eating anything (especially pink soup)?
Why does anyone need a recipe card for 'snacks on a stick'? You take your snack...put it on a stick. Duh!

Oh my!!! My mother had these when I was a around 7 yo. They sat on our burnt orange laminex kitchen bench!!!

ReplyDeleteI used to have a favourite website which showed photos from 60s and 70s cookbooks with hilarious interpretations of what the picture was of. I'm trying to find it, but having no luck.

ReplyDeleteI have the craft cards of this ilk. I can't cook to save myself (just not particularly into food), but I saw some 70s cooking magazines in folders in the style of the Golden Hands collections and was nearly (but not quite) tempted to buy them just for the same nostalgic reasons as I like the Golden Hands stuff...
