Mission completed

I managed to ignore distractions yesterday afternoon and finish my Baguette handbag.

Frances kindly offered to model it for me thismorning - I thought that might be more attractive as I'm still in my banana print flannelette pj's (I could join the bananas in pyjamas).

This is my very first zippered handbag pocket. I'm actually amazed at just how easy it was (due to Nikki's fantastic instructions).

I'm going to fill it up with my various bits and bobs and hit the op shops later on today...yippee!

  15. Oh, beautiful job Cam. I have two bag patterns by Nikki, but have so far lacked the uninterrupted time and focus I need to sew them. (I don't want to wing it either)

  19. A zippered pocket is very important in a handbag, especially if the bag is an open model. Lovely fabrics!

  27. Perfection Ms Curlypops. And Frances is quite a spunk, Mrs Doubtfire might be more useful but frankly I'd prefer to be looking at Frances and at least pretending to be so svelte...
BTW I was at a blogmeet today and saw no less than THREE Curlypops crazy-stitch flower brooches. They look wonderful Cam.

  28. It looks fantastic Cam!! Well done! I saw a tote bag the other day made from an old tea towel! They'd simply folded it and sewn it up, then added the inner material (what's the proper word for that gain?) Oh, right! Lining! Then they'd put a zip on the top and viola! I thought you might be able to do the same with some of your tea towels. Just a thought.
