A vintage treasure

I walked out to the letterbox the other day to check the mail.....

When I opened it I discovered a little box.
I wasn't expecting any parcels.

I've been trying to stick to my new budget, so I was racking my brain, trying to figure out whether I'd been online shopping and just forgotten!

But then I turned the little box over, and discovered to my great suprise and joy, that it was a secret gift from Silly Gilly

It's a buttonhole foot for my Singer 201K that I discovered on the side of the road.

I'll have to try to give it a road test on the weekend.

Thanks Silly Gilly!

  2. I know that feeling. I felt like that when I got the giveaway I had forgotten about. Hubby saw the satchel and sid "What's in there" and I was racking my brain, with guilt, incase it was something I had brought!
Isn't Silly Gilly thoughful. Hope you have fun with it! :)

  3. That is a VERY cool gift! Wow! I must have a look through your pics to see if you've got a photo posted of the Singer. We had one growing up and I remember it sitting there unused.... so dad sold it at a garage sale. Bummer. It would look so cool in my house today.

  4. Hello there, found your blog thru meetmeatmikes. What a lovely present! You are gonna make fantastic buttonholes with that. I am kinda obsessed with buttonhole attachments...I made a short film on mine actually :o)
I'm way jealous you scored a vintage machine on the side of the road!

  5. My mum collects all that old Singer stuff. She's got some working buttonholers, but her best find has been a gathering foot which makes beautiful ruffles!
