Getting Quilty
It's not very often that I take on a challenge of making a quilt..... but little bubba Lucas who turned one on the weekend, has a very lovely auntie who asked me to make one for him.
The request was for something bright and colourful so it can be used as a pram quilt or a playmat. Luckily, bright and colourful just so happens to be right up my alley.
I had a few prints from the Michael Miller Bot-Camp range in the stash which I absolutely adore. I added in the various polkadots to add some more pop!
Keeping with the space theme, I added some stars as a backing fabric.....
Happy Birthday little Lucas!
Its sensational, Curlypops! I love the prints you've chosen. Lucky little boy!
ReplyDeleteThat is just gorgeous! I am sure it will be treasured by Lucas!
ReplyDeleteI'm sat staring at how you've placed those squares! I've never attempted anything like that - love it!!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful work. The squares you used are simply perfect. Lil Lucas is going to love it, even when he is much older.
ReplyDeleteOh Cam! It's gorgeous! I'm sure the little tacker will love it - who wouldn't??
ReplyDeleteGosh Cam - that's wonderfully bright and cheerful. Perfect for a little guy. Well done!
ReplyDeleteVery cool Cam, very cool!
ReplyDeleteThat starry one is a Spotlight number isn't it? I bought seven versions for my wonky star quilt.
ReplyDeleteLooks suitably Pop-ish! Mister Lucas will love it.
ReplyDeleteThat Bot-Camp print is so cute!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely. I hope to finish my first quilt soon enough. It's all wonderful stuff!!

ReplyDeleteOooooh how spooky! I am currenting hand sewing the binding onto a quilt for a little boy who will be one this week! Great minds think alike and all that. I love the colours you have chosen.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt Cam, I love the fabrics, so bright and not overly blue. Great work.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is just lovely and gladdens my heart because so many people try to make things boring and bland for little boys and why shouldn't they have riotous colour in their lives, hmm?
ReplyDeleteLooks great Cam
