Toning it down

I have a love of big, bright, bold, 'in your face' colour..... and so I found it quite amusing when a girlfriend requested some new wraps for her baby daughter. She was happy for me to choose the print / pattern of the fabrics. The only specific request was that she wanted a 'toned down' version of what I would usually make.

I headed for the very large unhelpful chain fabric / craft shop yesterday in search of some 'toned down' fabrics.....

.....and this is about as 'toned down' as I can manage.

  1. That is probably all the toning down she wanted. The look great - soft and girly too.

  2. Well done for:
    - braving that large, unhelpful (often soul destroying!) shop
    - toning it down nicely!

  4. Very nice balance of calm and colour! So the Store-that-must-not-be named has some uses! We like that spot, too! Lisa.

  6. Gee I wonder if we are shopping at the same place? I also have a large unhelpful chain shop like that and it is my only option within half an hour of here, though I doubt in mine, which is also messy, I would even be able to find such things.

They are gorgeous BTW I bet your friend loves them to bits!

can I ask what type of fabric you used?

I used to live near a rather large very helpful well stocked, clean very cheery chain store....

now ive moved and the one near me is like yours maybe worse as I entered there the other day so did a dirty lil brown mouse eeeek! I ran screaming from the building and have not been back since

  20. You should have requested a voodoo lend. Though, having typed that you, quite obviously did a grand job of survival - and lived to tell the tale!
