It's my big sisters birthday today so I can finally reveal the handmade pressies....
I made this before christmas and I've had it in hiding until today.

After
completing the
purse making class, I ordered some more supplies from
Nikki so that I could make some more at home. My iron definitely isn't as good as the one that we used in the class, so I really need to invest in a decent one, as it really does give a better finish on a project like this one.

.... and this is another pressie that my nephew and I worked together on. Inspired by the
tin can pencil cups that we made at
Brown Owls, we decided to make her a pen holder using a wooden craft pen holder as the base. We painted the inside and then made a fabric cover with some ribbons stitched on. We then covered the base in glue, wrapped the fabric cover around it, and added the buttons to personalise it with her first initial.
Happy Birthday Mrs T!
gorgeous presents! lucky sister
ReplyDeleteWell done! It looks great! It's my Aunts b'day today too, funny huh? I met a little boy at the beach on Christmas whose b'day had been the 24th, yet Santa had still brought him presents. lol
ReplyDeleteWow - you should do a purse tutorial for us on your blog!
ReplyDeleteLucky sister! What fantastic presents!
ReplyDeleteThe purse looks fantastic Cam. I love the pen holder too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cam I love my presents!
ReplyDeletethey are fantastic. The best and bravest was baby sitting so I oculd see a movie and have dinner. Thanks for taking on all 3 babies...xxxxxxxxx
Hey, Miss Natural Crimper... you did a fantastic job with the purse. I can't see any wrinkly bits on it at all. I do like a good iron (or three) though....
ReplyDeleteThe little purse is so sweet, I really like the fabric you used. After my last iron died I invested in a more expensive one and it cut my ironing time in half, it's well worth it!
ReplyDeleteLovely purse-I bet your sister was thrilled-glad you survived Christmas! Have fun:)
ReplyDeleteGreat purse Cam, I'm yet to attempt my kit.
ReplyDeleteoh they are gorgeous.
