Warming the Cockles This Week

After more than three and a half years of sitting at my computer writing about little crafty bits and bobs and things that happen in my life, I still get totally flabbergasted when I receive messages from wonderful peeps telling me that they love what I do each day.

I get even more flabbergasted when they find lovely things for me and pop them in the mail!

Today I need to thank Zoe for this supercute matching pillowcase set, and co-ordinating fabric, and the lovely card.

I'm having trouble deciding what to make with those kitty cats, but I certainly do have an idea..... watch this space.

Love Fridays.....

Sheesh....Friday has come around way too quickly this week. The entire week has just flown by, and craft wise, all I've managed is one lonely headband and a spot of knitting on the couch....

Anyway, I've had a lovely Friday because I went and had a lovely lunch with two girlfriends that I used to work with. We haven't caught up for quite a while, so it was great to have a big long chat!

Then I arrived home and found a parcel in the mail. Not only did the lovely Jess send me a card earlier in the week, she also sent me a giant package of gorgeous vintage floral pillowcases! The package took up my entire letterbox.....

They're all beautiful and soft and snuggly.

Thankyou so much Jess for lifting my spirits again....there are lots and lots of pillowcase projects over here that I would love to try out....and these will be absolutely perfect.

Thrifted Tuesday

I had an early appointment yesterday morning so as a reward for dragging myself out of bed so early I thought I'd treat myself to a little op shopping on the way home (I limited myself to three op shops)....

These were my favourite finds for the day.....a pair of vintage pillowcases and a vintage cot sheet all in perfect condition. The only problem is that my washing machine decided to die last Thursday (6 months out of warranty....grrrrr) so I'm waiting for the repair man to turn up sometime today (not even a morning or afternoon timeslot....just sometime, and he'll ring 30 minutes before he gets here) to tell me whether I need to head straight down to the shops to buy a new one so I can wash my new purchases! In the meantime, I think they'll be happy to have a little soak in some napisan and warm water....
