The Wrap

Tinniegirl on the left and CurlyPops on the right

It was another lovely day in the country at the Buninyong Makers Market yesterday. It's a really easy drive from Melbourne, so I was there in no time!

I always find it really difficult to take nice photos inside town halls.... so these are a little bit blurry. The rest of my photos were unusable.

Thes lovely photos above of my crafty goodies are courtesy of Marilyn and her new camera

Annie was directly across from us

Cathy, Sel and I spent the entire day chatting, drinking coffee, and eating cupcakes (which seems to be our modus operandi on market days).

We had lots of lovely visitors including Linda from Heartfire at Home, Jan from Little Red Hen, Marilyn from Missy Mao Mao, and Michelle from Minyip who had purchased one of my Tulip Pouches from The CurlyPops Shop a couple of weeks ago.

Mel even dropped in to say hello on her way to Ballarat.

The market finished at 2PM, so we popped into the little cafe next door to the town hall, and had some scumptious lunch.

Sel and I even managed to find a garage sale on the way home... but my goodies are still in the car, so I'll have to play show and tell at a later date!

A Market and a Meme

First things first today - I'll be heading off to the Buninyong Makers Market very very soon... thank goodness I have a couple of drive-thru coffee options on the way. I usually stay in Clunes the night before, so that I don't have to get up quite so early, but today I'm heading there straight from Melbourne.

The market is in the most beautiful town hall, right in the centre of town, from 10AM - 2PM, so please come and visit, and say hello.

Second things....eeeerrrrr second!

Chunkychooky has a little meme to play along with which looked like fun:

4 things that I always carry:

  1. Phone (always always always)
  2. Purse
  3. Tissues
  4. Lip Balm

4 things that are in my bedroom:

  1. Bed
  2. Television
  3. Nana's arm chair
  4. Houdini's bed

4 things that I would like to do, but haven't done yet:

  1. Take a month long holiday to Europe
  2. Take a design course
  3. Get a tattoo
  4. Travel around Australia

4 things that you don't know about me:

  1. I used to be really good at sports (and still have a box full of trophies stuffed in a cupboard)
  2. I had a shetland pony named Chloe
  3. I have a new freelance writing job
  4. I love maths

4 things I often wonder:

  1. The obvious - WHY?
  2. The next most obvious - WHEN?
  3. What would my life had been like if?
  4. If I'll ever ride a bike again?
Oh, and I completely forgot to draw a giveaway winner lastnight, so stay tuned later tonight instead!

Animation Friday - Put On a Happy Face

    gif animator

New badges available at the Buninyong Market tomorrow!

    I love this song....

Gray skies are gonna clear up,
    Put on a happy face;
Brush off the clouds and cheer up,
    Put on a happy face.
Take off the gloomy mask of tragedy,
    It's not your style;
You'll look so good that you'll be glad
    Ya' decide to smile!
    Pick out a pleasant outlook,
    Stick out that noble chin;
Wipe off that "full of doubt" look,
    Slap on a happy grin!
And spread sunshine all over the place,
Just put on a happy face!
    Put on a happy face
    Put on a happy face
And if you're feeling cross and bitterish
    Don't sit and whine
Think of banana split and licorice
    And you'll feel fine
I knew a girl so glooming
    She'd never laugh or sing
    She wouldn't listen to me
Now she's a mean old thing
So spread sunshine all over the place
Just put on a happy face
So, put on a happy face

    My Creative Space

It's all about the packing today.

I'm heading to the Buninyong Makers Market this Saturday, so I'm re-jigging the way that I pack things for the umpteenth time.

I've been using a big trolley suitcase, but it's really heavy even before I pack anything in it. I've resorted to buying myself some new plastic containers, and I'm going to stack them on a trolley and occy strap them to hold them in place.... well, that's the plan anyway!

I've also been playing around with some new display items for my stall. Fingers crossed it all looks good!

    Marketeering in Buninyong

    My stall

'Twas a lovely little day out in the country today at the Buninyong Makers Market.
The crowds were rushing in early, so I only managed to snap a couple of quick photos immediately after we'd set up for the day.

The town hall is absolutely beautiful, and had a lovely vibe all day. There was a steady stream of customers, and it was great to have a chat and a laugh with everyone.

There were FREE chocolate cupcakes on the way in (which were truly delicious), and then as soon as we arrived we happened to meet a lovely girl from the coffee shop across the road who was taking coffee orders, and delivering them back to the market (can you believe it)!

Then to make it even more unbelievable, she just so happened to be Trudi and Nikki's sister. Talk about a small world!

It was lovely to catch up with Jodie (without that nasty cough thank goodness), and Annie, and I finally got to meet Kathryn too, which was lovely.

A huge thankyou to my crafty partner-in-crime (who I think I should be maybe re-naming my arty partner-in-crime), and my sister (who sarcastically calls herself the 'donkey'), for lugging all my bits and bobs, and trolleys, and boxes and whatsits, because I certainly wouldn't be out and about marketeering without all of that help.

    Pretty Flamingo

I'm on the home stretch of the market preparations..... it's amazing what you can get done in a couple of days at short notice!

My brand new cards are all printed and  packed and ready to go.

Come along and visit me at the Buninyong Makers Market tomorrow from 10AM - 2 PM to check them out in person.

Just in case you can't make it tomorrow, I've popped these three designs into The CurlyPops Shop!

    My Creative Space

It's all about action stations and market preparations today.
This pile of pouches needs flex frames to be added.

    This pile still needs sewing.

At least the brooches are all packed and ready to go......

Oh, and I still need to finish printing and packing my new cards..... and then I'm off to the Northern Craft Bonanza tonight. It's been quite a while between drinks, so I'm really looking forward to it!

Jumping in at the Deep End

It's been a little while since I've been out and about with my craftiness, so instead of taking it slowly and splashing in the shallows, I'm performing a dive bomb, and heading for the inaugural Buninyong Makers Market this Saturday..... Oh, and by the way, did I ever tell you that I can't swim?

Just in case you don't know where Buninyong is.... it's a pretty little town just 11 kilometres south of Ballarat.
The market will be held this Saturday from 10am - 2pm in the Town Hall.

I'll have my brooches, bags and pouches, as well as my brand new range of greeting cards featuring my original illustrations. I'm very excited to take them on their first outing to gain some customer feedback.

Tinniegirl is joining me for a country road trip. She has been working really hard on her brand new range of original fine art prints and cards, along with her beautiful handmade affirmation packs.

    Hope to see you there!
