Flea Market Finds

I have a handed-down op shop find to show today...

While mum was moving house earlier this week, she was getting rid of this sweet little butter dish. I remember this always being around from the time that I was a littlie, so I grabbed it to keep.

It was apparently found in an op shop in Penshurst some time in the 1970's. It was lovingly used by us for years and years (as you can tell from the crazing).

After doing a minute amount of internet research, I've found that it was manufactured between 1951 and 1952. Now it's going straght to the pool room treasure shelf.

It's a beautiful butter dish. There's always something so welcoming & comforting about a table all set & complete with a butter dish...reminds me of family gatherings when my Nan was still around...

That is great - a secong generation op-shop find! I have long suspected that op-shopping is an inherited trait ... Definitely deserves to go staright to the pool room - er I mean treasure shelf!

What a beautiful butter dish, one of those objects I wish was still a part of my table setting. Just lovely.
