Too Cute Tunic Dress

I've been itching to make myself a dress for the longest time, and when I bought Pip's Sew La Tea Do book, I instantly fell in love with the Too Cute Tunic Dress.

Unfortunately, I didn't choose the most appropriate fabric colour for my white pasty Irish skin tone. Check out the flourescent white legs!

I made the M/L size with the full length arm so it's a really nice and comfy fit, even for lounging around on the couch. The only change that I made was to lower the front neckline a bit to allow for my ample cleavage.

As a little extra embellishment, I added a ribbon along the seam where the bodice meets the skirt. I would have preferred green, but I only had pink in the stash, so pink it was!

But my very favourite bit...... POCKETS! I love pockets - pockets are essential for me.

Of course now I have so many ideas for different fabric combinations - plain bottom, printed bodice. A shorter version for a tunic top... the possibilites are endless.

Oh, and by the way - Happy New Year!

Very cute! And don't worry about the fluoro legs- I figure that eventually us people with white legs will outnumber those with some colour and we will rule the world.

Your dress has turned out so well. It looks like it will be so easy to wear. Please share your variations as you make them. I wish I had your slim legs.

I think the dress looks great on you and works terrificly with that pink stripe and green shoes. The white Irish skin is a sure sign of less chance of skin cancer and should be wished for by all of us. Unfortunately some of us still long for the tan but really it is not good to. I think the dress is very complimentary to you. Cherrie

Flouro legs rock! I remember being totally mesmerised by this pale skinned lady I meet at the height of summer when we all had farmers arms and sunburnt noses - it was stunning, so bring on the white legged trend because I'd be able to join you (with my pastey, irish complection).

Love the print: what a cute dress!
And I totally agree about pockets!
When I was a little girl I got a dress from my mum but it had no pockets so I asked Mum if we could go to the shop and buy some pockets!
