Blogtoberfest Day 1: My Creative Space

In my creative space today:

It's a brooch making frenzy - there's various bits and pieces in all different stages of production all over my work bench. It's a little bit dreary thismorning so I had to use the flash...
I'm adding some new Spring colours for a bit of cheeriness.

I found the buttons on the plate on the left at the oppy last week - a big bag for $1.50 so I was quite pleased.

Also in my creative space, is this wonderful prize that I won last week. Cathie from Melbourne Epicure sent me this lovely little girls apron with a rolling pin and cookie cutters - look how cute the cutters are: there's a mumma, papa, little miss and little mister.

These are heading for my handmade christmas basket. I've been collecting little bits and pieces all year so that when the time arrives, hopefully I won't be in a mad rush trying to make things for everyone!

Cathie also sent me some gorgeous doilies for my brooches, and some delicious homemade chocolate freckle hearts which I forgot to take a photo of before they magically disappeared (ok, I ate them.... I was hungry).

Now I'm off to check out all of the Blogtoberfesters!

Good score on the buttons there Cam and I love the idea of handmade Xmas baskets.

While I'm here I thought I should let you know that I am holding a giveaway for the word of the day thing, a poem as you excellently suggested. I will crochet a teacosy for the prize.

Thanks for your great suggestion.

Your space looks lovely and colourful, almost edible. I love the idea of the handmade christmas basket. Cathie's bikkies barely made it out of their bags here too. Definitely too yummy to wait around to be photographed. ps I have just had an idea for a giveaway. I'll email you the details.

Love your prize! My sister once brought my Mum two of the little girl cutters for her birthday, to symbolize us twins!

One of the local op shops here sells little bags of coloured buttons for a couple of dollars each, or big bags of white buttons for a dollar. Maybe it's in the rules?

You are making such lovely things at the moment. I do love those lil flowers.

And as for those chocolate freckle hearts — I agree — magic does happen. ;)

Apart from the fact that you are Miss Superpops and I am quite obviously not, how do I get people to send me lovely presents in the mail?????

Great button find! I have been increasingly frustrated with the button range at the stores lately (i hate all those carded cheap looking buttons that are actually really expensive!) and I have just found two local oppys with heaps of buttons. Happy brooch making!

The colours of the flower petals look spectacular against the dark wood and that little apron is adorable.

Hi, I am a fellow blogtoberfest-ER! OMG its such a great platform to meet people all over! My blog is mostly about my little baby though... He's all brand new and i am really excited about the little steps he is taking! Anyway here's a little note: Great blog, keep blogging will be coming back for more!
My quest is to check out every single blogger on tinniegal's blogtoberfest and leave a comment at each...
Psst: the only craft I can come up with are just scrapbooks and cross stitches! Your blog inspires me... But I have no time for them now...sigh...
