One of those days...

I was expecting to have a nice quiet weekend at home.... no real plans, just a bit of sewing.

But the stars were not aligned somewhere along the line, and things started to mysteriously go haywire.
It all began on Saturday when Bec ran out of petrol in my driveway and had to wait two hours for the RACV.
I did at least take advantage of the situation by letting her sort out my big tub of tangled up ric-rac!

Then on Sunday, we decided to have a little crafternoon. For some reason, everything I did, or was trying to do just went horribly wrong. I made an error with my calculations for the camera bag flap and made it too large. So I unpicked it all, and made it smaller... problem fixed. Then it was time to sew the clip onto the flap, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I searched and searched and searched - then after half an hour, I remembered that I'd clipped it onto the body of the bag so I wouldn't lose it...deeeerrrrrrr!

The final straw came when I was using my lovely covered tape measure to find the centre point to attach the flap. One minute I was using the tape measure.... the next minute it had disappeared!

By this time, I thought Bec was playing tricks on me by hiding things on purpose..... only to finally find the tape measure inside the bag body.

I think somedays we all should just give up and go back to bed!

I've had so many of 'those' days, it's always very reassuring to know that others do too! Perhaps next weekend will be exponentially more crafty to make up for it.

That sounds awful!

I seriously had nothing to do with the 'hidden' objects, I didn't need to, it was all happening by itself! Still giving me belly laughs, too- sorry, Cam, must of been my craziness rubbing off (you probably need some mad pills after all that!)

Those days are frustrating. My sewing frustration at the moment lies with the fact that I have been away and had machine serviced but 8 days later am still not sitting down to sew because there is no time. I now have gotten some things cut out so fingers crossed. Nice organised ricrac though! ;) Nice of you to "let" her sort it lol.

Oh, yep. I know those days. I know those weeks. Enough to declare low maintenance beans on toast for dinner and early to bed...

this happens to me with sewing needles, whenever I put one somewhere I won't lose it, I lose it!

Yep, really was one of those days. I find they seem to need to come every now and then, it sounds like your turn shouldn't be back for a while.

hehehe had you actually sewn it into the lining of the bag? now that would have been funny. oh well it's good to hear others have days like that. hope your week gets better:)

Eh, it's good to know one isn't alone in matters of where things mysteriously vanish for random half hours or so... I am well known to have put something down and find it goes 'walkies' in my memory!

It's reassuring to know that other people have those days too and that I am not alone in that!

For me it's always the thread cutters, and scissors just won't do the trick.

Sounds so familiar...
Things always seem to 'disappear' on me...
Really - they do!
Then they pop up somewhere totally unexpected.
Like right next to me... So frustrating.

Hope your week improves!

Boy can I relate to this! I have four little pairs of scissors for snipping threads, and they can all be on the table at the same time, but all in hiding! Some days it's just not meant to be!

oh dear, oh dear... mind you I must admit to having a little chucking at the bag swallowing your tape measure! ;)

This problem must be going around, I finally found my paper cutting scissors under a huge pile of stuff strewn on the spare bed last night. Hope you get an "on fire, nothing can stop me" day next up.

That sounds like my every crafty session. Thrilling, flowing moments of creative bliss...followed by long, painful minutes of swearing and grunting as I look for lost accessories, repair a broken needle, unpick stitches...Oh, to be one of those crafty types who are creative AND organised. They must be the shizzle.
