My creative space

There's actually nothing much creative happening right at this very moment in time.

I absolutely hate being rushed at the last minute (might have something to do with the fact that rushing is a physical impossibility)..... so I'm packing everything up early so it's all ready for the market on Saturday.

I'm using Amy's Badskirt Market Checklist and I'm adding some extra items for me.

So far I've packed the brooches, brooch kits, bookmarks, and aprons.
The handbags are still hanging. How do you pack handbags for transport without them being flattened and creased? I have no idea.

The trestle table is already in the car.

The still to do list:
  • Make a pricing sign
  • Print care labels for the swing tags
  • Put Frances in the car (she's on modelling duty on Saturday)
  • Go to the bank and pick up some change (the market is cash only)
  • Buy a receipt book
  • Ring friend about my custom brooch stand
  • Make myself a market apron (how could I forget that)?
  • Think about something crafty to take along (just in case I have no customers...eeek)!
  • Think about what type of food I'm going to take (very important)

Head on over and visit Kirsty to see who else is playing along this week!

I stuff bags with newspaper inside old supermarket bags.

I hope you have a great market.

You are so organised. I must pop over to Amy's to get that market checklist if I ever do a market one day. Hope to see some photos up here of your stall.

I second the idea of balling up paper and putting it in shopping bag or ziploc bags. Then put them inside the bags to hold their shape.

The other idea goes way back to my grandma's car. She had a rod that fit across the beackseat and hung on the little hooks just above the door. You could fashion yourself a similar rod and hang all of your bags on it. If you don't have hooks, you could get door hooks and hang them over the window. If you need a picture of what I'm talking about let me know. I can scrawl one.

I'm sure your market is going to be terrific!

Isn't Amy the best? Her check list is great. Love the (Wizard of Oz?) fabric too :)

Good luck with your packing - I can't wait to see your stand. Screwed up bubble wrap (if you have a roll) is also quite good for stuffing loosely inside bags :)

Oh that list would have been handy about a week ago! Good luck for the market!

you sound like you have everything under control – sorry can't help with the handbag creasing, though we have the same problem with the silk scarves. Good luck!

Just stopped by to wish you luck for Saturday. Your stuff is great and has a point of difference. I read your comment on TinnieGirl's post and understand your trepidation in light of the article. Hopefully you have heard the masses and are now feeling excited about selling your wares - live and let live!

You sound very organised. I once went to a fair (luckily or unluckily, it was crap) and forgot to take my money with me! I only sold one card though and they had the right change!

You sound very organised Miss Cam. I'm really looking forward to it, along with a relaxing roast dinner on Saturday night to celebrate.

Cam,
That is a really good idea that checklist as I do the markets every second week where I am and the list just makes sure that you don't leave anything behind. Nice space.

Oh, can you come and organise me for my markets... we're more like pack the car at 5am on the day of the market and hope for the best markety types...
(Although we have the basics already established so we can just get a way with it)
So exciting... have fun Cam.

p.s I have found you another tea-towel - I'm always looking for you... but not much on offer lately.
