Not my forte
Abbe from Copper Patch put the call out last week for a little bit of help in getting a quilt made for one of her friends. I certainly do not have any quilt piecing skills but I volunteered to help out.
Following Abbe's tutorial, I pieced together my block thismorning.... but it didn't quite end up being the correct size. I think that my quarter inch seams may have been a little more than a quarter inch....
I'm hoping that it's still useful in the overall quilt so I've sent it off thismorning. Fingers crossed!
PS - I think there's still time to get involved if you have time to help.

I LOVE the border fabric! Woohoo!
PS. Have you checked out my new website, would love to know what you think?!
It looks good; I hope it finds a place in the quilt. I love that background fabric; it would be perfect for my commissioned project, so don’t forget where you found it! I shall get sketches to you soon
Hey Cam, it looks great. The first block I did was undersized as well which made me realise that my 1/4 inch foot is not a 1/4 inch. I have a spare and that is more accurate. I love the fabrics. Thanks so much for your help,
Ab
Ps. Glad I 'forced' you to become one of us :o)
i love that border fabric too!! it feels so retro...
you are such a dear to offer your help despite your supposed lack of piecing skills -it looks like a lovely quilt block to me!
Looks just right!!
Gorgeous! Love the purple border fabric - well, I love all purple fabric, but I especially like that one. You've done a great job!
Kelly :-)
Oh thank goodness ! I thinks my blocks are a bit off too at least I'm in good company .
Looks fine to me. I find that cutting the pieces slightly larger and then cutting the overall block down helps because I am not great on that accuracy either. Cherrie
Easily fixed, Abbe can just put a boarder around it, easy peasy. It will make up for the slight size difference with all the other purple blocks only yours will have a boarder & be a feature. See, your tiny misjudgement has made you a star!! Love Posie
Speaking of tutorials, I've just completed my first tea towel tote bag using your tutorial. The instructions were excellent (as I'm a beginner in the sewing world). I used a vintage tea towel that my mother gave me years ago - rosellas on a cream towel with a blue border. Really pretty. Thanks so much. I had a lot of fun with it!

Psst... I still have a quilt not put together in my closet. It's not really my forte either, I just get inspired by others. Oops!
