Zips

I have a Love / Hate relationship with zips.... 10% percent of the time, it's love, and 90% of the time, it's hate!

I still keep collecting zips from the oppy, just in case I might need them one day. But then sometimes, I get the sudden urge to sew a zippered pouch - for no reason at all.

This time I decided to experiment by inserting the zip at the front instead of the top. I didn't quite get the dimensions correct for the zipper I was using, but it turned out pretty well other than that.

This one will be added to the present stash for upcoming birthdays.

I love doing zips this way - and you can use really huge zips (I always find those on special) and cut the ends off. Love your bike fabric.

Love it Cam! I must admit, zips scare the beejeezus out of me. Trying it this way may take out some of that stress though, might have to give it a whirl!

It's adorable. I hate zips too, but for some reason have tonnes of them for "just incase".

Mine is purely a hate relationship, lucky I've got someone else to delegate that task to!

That's perfect with the zip pull. I have nothing against zips full stop. It's just my machines' treatment of them. I don't know why they can't invent a foot that lets you sew neatly around the pull without having to do a wide seam. Very annoying. Cherrie

It looks great! I'm a bit frightened of zips, and so far have done all I can to avoid inserting one.
btw your baking below looks delicious!

Cam looks fantastic and I think you might have just solved a dilemma I was having. Might have to pick your brains about how to do that type of zip

Gorgeous zip pouch!
I must be weird, I kind of like sewing in zips. I like to know I can beat them, and I refuse to let a zip win! It is good to be stubborn, some times.

It's the ends of the zips I hate..the middles are ok. It's all your little finishing touches I adore..the labels, the bike thingy on the end of the zip the ring on the label thingy..and I love your fabric. So much to love...

I hate zips too hence why all my zips for my chicken doorstops are sewn in by hand! I must learn one day to do it with the machine! Yours looks spot on :)
