We interrupt this transmission......

Six hours with no power lastnight.
There were no faults in my area..... just something the Victorian government calls 'Load Shedding'. It doesn't matter whether you have previously registered with your power company as having vital medical equipment.... you still get switched off. What year is it again?

Wow! Bet you would have heard about our dramas here in NZ last year when someone did actually die after their power was switched off!

In LA, they call them "rolling blackouts". Regardless what they call them, it's terrible. =/

Our family spent most of yesterday afternoon at the local shopping centre as we had no power for 4hrs. It's really cool in Coles!
I feel for you, as it was worrying for those who could be adversely affected. The minute it came back on I heard all the neighbours air conditioners crank up again! mmmmm

Argh, that's insane.

We lost it, too, for 5 or 6 hours. But we're not reliant on it, like some.

Hope you are ok Cam.

if the government was so worried about power everyone would have a free solar panel on their house...
it's much cheaper just to switch us off...

I just heard about this on the radio as I was reading your post! Wow... that's pretty terrible. Is it because too many people were using air-con? Something like that happened in Perth a few years ago.

I was watching the tennis last night (best game ever!!for some reason I enjoy the Aust Open each year but hate watching any other sport except The Tour De France) anyway getting sidetracked, and they were talking about a lot of Melb being out! incredible!! I know a lot of Tassie was out the day before, they say the Bass Link cable going along the bottom of Bass Strait is set to shut down in Vic at over 45c and over 35c in George Town in Tassie which is the other end of the cable!!But why?????Hoping you are alright and have a WONDERFUL day with Tinniegirl!!!

I wish I could send you some cool air from Finland: we have -14 C today, which is not bad at all but we could do with a little of your + degrees in exchange. Like -2 for us and +32 for you.
I hope you didn't have to much trouble due to the power outcut, and that you are having a wonderful weekend at Sewjourn.

They also cut off a hospital, so honestly what hope do you have at home? Appalling.
