a work in progress

I'm still using a cardboard box for a bedside table..... but at least there's now some progress to report

The op-shopped drawers have been stripped and are now ready for a slightly darker stain and then a clear coat of sealer. I'm going for an imperfect / old / shabby look because all the furniture is mismatched.

This little cupboard has been in the shed for at least six years. I originally found it at a church garage sale.

It's getting the same treatment, and then I think I'll use it as a lamp table on the opposite side of my bed.

I can't wait to have somewhere to put all of my worldly bedside treasures....

Wow, pretty jealous, I'm broke this weekend, so I am only longing for paint stripper instead of buying it. I'm going to do a wardrobe, hope it takes as quick as yours haha.

they are both big projects you have taken on. stripping and sanding is so time consuming but worth it when you have saved a good piece of furniture going to the tip.. cant wait to see them finished

Giving furniture new life is so much fun. Can't wait to see how it turns out. :) You have been quite busy since I last stopped in. I need to check your blog more often. You have such great creations. Hope you are doing well. God Bless, Molly

I am looking forward to seeing it finished. After many years I have learnt that I don't have the discipline for stripping furniture. I sew ... things get done if I can do it with my Janome!

Looking forward to seeing the finished furniture and how you stain the pieces. I have a little set of drawers that I would like to strip and give a shabby look too. However, I haven't yet worked up the energy/motivation to do the stripping .... it looks like hard work!
