Buried Treasure and an Electic Mix

Well now, the name of my post yesterday was absolutely correct. When you're completely unmotivated about packing and moving house, the most random eclectic things end up in a box together and get packed away never to be seen again.

Some things I knew I was missing.... some things I didn't.

I'd been searching for the collaborative artworks that Tinniegirl and I created above, ever since I moved. I remembered wrapping them in tissue paper so that they'd be safe and sound..... but I hadn't seen them since.

I'd forgotten about these sweet little vintage teacups that I found at the oppy. I'll be adding them to my treasure shelf today after I give them a little bit of a wash and a spruce up.

Ridiculous as it may seem. I'm also very happy that I found my sticky tape dispenser....

...along with some of my candleholders, candles, and the candle flame putter outer thingy (because I can't blow them out), some mobile phone accessories, my elephant snow globe, a bag of random screws and door handles, some command hooks, and copper boat figurines of course!

You see, sometimes it's the little things that make me happy.... now put your hands up if you packed that box!

I unpacked the last box in the office last week. I found all my candles and tea lights aswell! I was wondering where on earth they had gone! And I found my bathers and a hooded jumper I forgot I had!
I bet you're happy you found that Snow Globe..!!
Well at least you can hang the collages on the wall with the rest of your artworks! And I'm taking a guess that maybe "mum" packed that box....???

Woo, Command hooks! Always a great thing to find stashed away. Now you can hang those collaborative artworks on the wall.

YES! There is always a box with the odd bits & pieces or last minute packed stuff - always the last to find, too!

I bet each one has a great memory which is what re-discovering knicky knacks is all about. Sounds like you've had loads of fun unpacking. A girl can never have enough candles!

I love suprises Cam. I still have boxes unpacked in the front room from when we moved in 8 months ago. From time to time I'll unpack one just to see what's inside and it's a wonderful feeling finding forgotten treasures!

It must feel good to find these, and get things sorted! I'm scared to look in some of the boxes we've been hoarding. The time is coming though...!

I had totally forgotten what they looked like. I actually really like the one at the back with the doiley pieces.

It must feel good to be getting the unpacking finished.

Oh that would have been a nice box to open up! I really should have my own sticky tape dispenser since I have to try to find the kids' one when I need tape.

It's annoying when you can't find something, but I love the surprise of finding things after forgetting about them for years.

It wasn't me that packed that box.....

I'm so lucky I have not needed to move house in nearly 30 years, but it doesn't mean that I don't have surprise boxes in the house. When we have to clean really nice (like for guests or Christmas), we put everything in a box out of sight. That's where my paper puncher and other such things are finally found.

Gotta love these last boxes of random items!... I unpacked one such box recently - actually it was one of those green grocery bags - that I KNOW had been moved twice without being unpacked... Lots of long lost treasures along with a whole lot of JUNK that should have been but in the bin and NOT packed :)

Enjoy your new re-found treasures. We lived in our shed for two and half years while we built our house (you can't rush these things) and it was amazing what we quite happily lived without. Mind you, it was fun finding all those treasures again......some are, however, still in boxes. Maybe that is telling me something....but I can't chuck them out.
