Mixtogether Gift

I forgot to post some photos of the gift that I made for the Mixtogether blogmeet.
The theme was 'Use what you have', so I used some denim from an old pair of jeans and a piece of fabric from the Spotlight remnant bin to create a simple tote bag.

My gift was given to Nichola. You can check it out on her blog here!

I filled the bag with a mix of new and vintage fabrics and some trim and buttons.......

The next Mixtogether has just been announced, so get in quick if you would like to join in!

Looks great, and I love the fabric you included! [I emailed off to go to the next Mixtogether, so I hope there's a spot free.]

We are like minded souls lately. Love the bag and the use of old jeans

I really love that tote. Do you use a pattern? I really want to have a go at making some totes but think I would be better off starting with a pattern given that I'm not much of a seamstress. I always think I can sew things just with my brain and hands but when my reversible clutch bag turned out as a cushion it made me realise I might need to start with some guidance. Any suggestions for a novice sewer Cam?

I also e-mailed off about the next Mixtogether. Are you planning to try and go along?
