Thrifted Tuesday....the toasted version

Any sensible Melburnian would have hibernated in the air conditioning, or headed out for a swim today, but not me and my sis..... we decided to go op shopping in 40 degree heat!

I was trying to exercise restraint today. I need to move house at the end of February so I'm trying really really hard not to bring home any more unecessary clutter (especially considering that I don't know where I'm going to put it all)!

I was on the lookout for tea towels, but after 7 op shops and 4 hours of sweating, we gave up and headed home..... with no tea towels.

On the bright side, I did find this fabulous footstool which matches my chocolate brown couch perfectly. It's in mint condition and was only $10. There was also a lovely vintage mirror with an etched floral detail that I left behind... and I'm now regretting. I'm heading that way on Thursday so I might just have to duck back in and hope that it's still there!

You are my kind of op shopping pal! It's 42 degrees in Mildura at the moment and I've only left the house to go to the post office so I've very proud of you! Great footstool, nice find! I'll keep an eye out for tea towels for you here, you just never know.

Yes I was thinking that really that mirror was too cheap to leave behind..... Mr S just shook his head when I showed him the cutlery set and said we already have one...lol.

Now that's what I call op shopping in the face of adversity. Great bargain. (And you'd definitely need it after being out in that heat.)

Boiling hot days are the BEST days to op shop! No competition - and they just end up putting stuff out all day as there are few customers! Lovely foot stool!

What a bargain! I dont think we use footstools near enough any more. they make great seats for tiny bottoms when kids come to visit..if the mirror you left behind was round and about 10 bucks ill cry lol, lets hope it ends up on my op shop rounds:)
