Ahoy there it's done!

It was a crazily busy day yesterday, but I made the most of the spare hour that I had in the afternoon to finish off the Little Houdini's sleeping bag.

I pulled out some binding scraps to finish off the armholes.... then cut it right down the middle to add the zip.

I've been collecting zips from the oppy for the longest time - I even had the exact perfect colour and size in the zipper stash.

Thanks to everyone for all of their tips yesterday.... especially the one about adding a tab to cover the top of the zipper so that he can't unzip himself!

I delivered it yesterday afternoon, so I'm hoping that the first test run worked lastnight.

It looks great and I like the tab idea. I hope the little Houdini cant escape now, lol!

It's so gorgeous. I have to tell you though that my climber-baby was not at all hampered by a sleeping bag. We had to rely on being completely mean and grumpy at him if he ever showed his proud escapee shining baby face at us after he'd been put to bed. It was very hard because he was adorable waddling out in the sleeping bag walk. But at least he stayed covered all night

To continue with the pirate theme, you could anchor that twin boy down to his bed!! Looks ace, you should be thrilled, as will your sister!! Love Posie

I bet that slowed him down (in style!), Cam. It looks lovely.

Cute bags like that cost a fortune at the shops (and are probably not finished half as beautifully).

Looks great, love the fabric. Only a true pirate could get out of that thing!

It's gorgeous Cam. I notice that 'the tablecloth' is still on the table LOL :) Not cutting into it just yet?

You've out Houdini-ed yourself. There's a market for these Cam - I would never have survived the first couple of years of kids without 'em!

I'm so glad I dropped by as I'm clearing the dining table tonight to make one of these and that zipper-cover-tab is brilliant.

Fingers crossed I can find a matching zipper from my stash as well!

Lovely, Aunty Cam! A good sleeping bag is worth a LOT of money in the Button house. Sleep is very precious and an end to night time shenanigans is a great present for a sister. You're so quick and clever. Lisa x

If Bubble wasn't using a sleeping bag from the op shop x2 for $2 I would make one after seeing yours... Can you please hold back on inspiring me to make things for my kids for maybe a week? That's all!!

Aha, the sleeping bag/straight jacket trick! If he still escapes at least he will look super-cute waddling around!
