Ole - Part One

My SIL is having a mexican themed birthday bash in a couple of weeks time and all the guests are required to dress up (eeeek)!

My first port of call for dress up occassions is always the oppy...

I was in search of something for myself, and also for my sister.
I found this bright stripey dress / tunic thingie, but looking at it on Frances, I have a feeling it may be a bit too small.

Luckily I also found this ginormous skirt.

It's long and wide with heaps of fabric, so I can quite easily transform it into a simple tiered skirt - a la mexican style (or so I'm hoping).

Stay tuned for Ole - Part Two... coming soon

Eeek indeed! I hate costume parties! Love the skirt - but boy it's huge! You'll be able to turn the remainder into a tent!!!

CP. Are you SURE? Given that the skirt could easily convert into a FABULOUS cubby house for the nephews? (Not that I'm not convinced you know how to work a frill or three)...

I think your idea of a ruffled skirt is perfect. The fabric looks really light weight so it should ruffle beautifully - very ole indeed!

You're a resourceful little mexican, aren't you.
I can't wait to see the finished outfit.
That dress fabric would look great as a flowing headscarf. To keep your locks from your face as you're dancing flirtatiously away to the spicy latin music.
Have fun. x
My word verification is "rattl". It made me think of rattle snakes. Hopefully there's non of those at the party.

A good part of my op-shopping is about finding larger pieces that I can whittle down into new items. This fabric will pop whatever you do with it.
