Still Skirting Around

I'm completely chuffed with all the skirts that were made as part of the Make It In May Sew-Along, and even more chuffed that there are still skirts being sewn and blogged and Flickrd right into June (I completely understand that life is really busy and it's hard to put oneself first when it comes to crafting).

So here's a little slideshow of the finishers over the last few days.

Skirt 1

Simplicity 2154 by Renae from Sew, Renae!
I'm totally in love with plaids at the moment, so I was swooning over this little number (and I love your boots too Renae). Can't wait to wear lace up boots again.

Skirt 2

Butterick 3629 by Pam from Cloth and Creation.
The addition of a frilly trim and the embroidered applique is completely adorable.

Skirt 3

Simplicity 2226 by Bron from Whippet Good (every time I read Bron's blog I end up with Devo in my head).

The skirt is gorgeous - such a great print and a fantastic colour.

Bec and Lisa both made a skirt for the sew along using this same pattern (oh, and of course this one is also on my 'to buy' list).

Skirt 4

This skirt is by Kathy from Sew-Happy House.

She designed it herself as a project for her fashion design course.

'from concept drawings, third scale design drawing, drafting a pattern, constructing a toile and creating this masterpiece'

Brilliant Kathy!

Skirt 5

Nicole from Dabbling All Day finished her freeform skirt using op-shopped linen.

Pretty and frugal - the prefect combo!

Skirt 6

You Sew Girl A-Line Skirt by Fiona from Handmade by Fiona

Fiona has made some alterations to make it less a-line to suit her shape and the result is gorgeous. Such a great fabric choice too!

Thankyou so much for joining in ladies. Hope you had fun!

All the skirts are great. But the skirt that Fiona made is absolutely gorgeous; what fabulous fabric and Nikki's pattern again proves to be so adaptable - a must have in every collection.

I'm in love with Bron's skirt. Everything from the colour, the print, and the flattering design is perfect.

It's exactly the sort of style that would flatter the hips God thought it was a good idea to give me (ie. he was being very generous)
