What Would You Do?

I received a lovely email last week, totally out of the blue, enquiring about some of my crafty goodies (I'll be able to fill you in on the details later in the week).

I'm working on a contracting project at my old workplace at the moment, so the only time that I had available to get everything all stitched up was the weekend.

Now that I have everything finished, I'm having a dilemma. I love this particular cushion so much that I'm not quite sure that I can part with it, but I'm also not quite sure that I have enough time to make a replacement.

What would you do? Is it the curse of the crafter?

burn the midnight oil and make a new one - we crafters tend to keep so little of what we make and if you really love it keep it. xx

I'm with Miss Prudence ~ if you love it, keep it ~ it's one of the perks of the "job"!

It's a tough one! I'd approach it with a hard heart. Time vs love of the cushion.

Of course you could always sabotage yourself, put it on the sofa and see in Mr Limpy Houdino Dog drools on it ... therefore making it yours!

oh the dilemma of the crafter! I say, if you love it let it go....and then if you really miss seeing it, you'll be inspired to make another one. I've made stuff I really loved, and didn't even take a picture of it...so perhaps you can just look at this picture when you miss it!

ps - it is so gorgeous, no wonder you don't want to part with it! xx

You and this cushion were made for each other!

It is perfect for you Cam.
I think it depends on if you have a suitable replacement fabric/teatowel for your client. Then go for it!

Tricky one - I'm not best suited to give advice in this area due to not being able to part with anything I create and my 4 bulging wardrobes are testament to that....follow your heart.

I'm like that with everything I make, especially my owl pins... I content myself with taking a few photos of them and that's that. But it is entirely up to you! I have some more tea towels for you too.

It sure is the curse of the crafter! It happens to me often. Lately I've decided to give my craft away and it makes me really happy.

It is gorgeous! The fabric is divine! If you have more of that fabric, make another. It would be a lovely one to sell also.

If you part with it something new will come your way. The curse of the creative is that we are always inspired to look for the next thing. So away with it and make room in your head and heart for the new thing.
Although it is really very you....

Prepare to be awake to hear the dawn birdy chorus, of course!

it's very much a Curlypops signature style, you NEED it! think of it sitting on the couch between you & Houdini..go on, enjoy what you make ♥

It would depend if you have more of the same fabric - I've made stuff that I adore before and then gave/sold it only to find that I can't get the same fabric to make myself another! It is such a beautiful cushion - I can see why you love it.

Keep it! We are so good at giving away things we have made, or specifically making things for others that we often end up with nothing special for ourselves. As has been said....if you love it don't let it go!
