It's Tuesday and I can't wait...

I really can't wait for the storm clouds to disappear this week....

Bring on the rain - just make sure to clear the skies. My wireless internet really really really doesn't like all this cloud cover. It's costing me $100 per month and I'm having connection problems and drop outs. I'm struggling to be able to read everything in my google reader before I get disconnected, and it's really pushing me over the edge!

I'm seriously considering going back to a broadband connection. The problem is that I don't have a home phone connection. I'll have to pay to have a home phone connected, pay even more to have the connection put in the spare bedroom (where the desktop pc lives), just so that I can have naked broadband connected and then disconnect the home phone line. It's just such a huge waste of money....agggghhhhh.

I'd love to know if anyone else has any other better suggestions.

Play along with Lou Lou....

We have had problems with every internet we have tried at our house! Wireless didn't work at all. Apparantly we are in a black spot. So we pay $60 a month for crappy internet, as nothing else works. Drives my husband nuts because it is
s l o w
but I have learnt to live with it! :)
If you do find the solution, please share!

Hello Cam, Internet connection makes a lot of people not happy lately...Here we are on Broadband wireless and I find it expensive and not so great, it always drives my lovely "Cheri" mad being quite slow but I just put up with it...Sorry I do not help much!

We are working through the same issues as we move house. I think we have decided to stick with cable broadband but need to pay a reconnection fee at the new house I think. We keep our plan which is better than the current rate I think. We also don't have a home phone so had the same issues as you.

Hey Cam...just quickly you can have the home phone running and broadband internet too... We are set up so if the phone rings interent connection is still on, how? cause there's double adapter that fits the standard phone outlet..Okay big ugly cord running through house..but for half the price of wireless I'd set yourself up with a phone at home...

We live in an area with no cable so are restricted to wireless broadband. As the four of us are heavy internet users we had to purchase 2 plans (6G and 5G) but it is intermittent and goes down frequently needing to be reset. It is a nuisance but we have learnt to live with it. We are tied into a contract so will look at other options when this one is due to expire. I will be interested to see what you do.

Hmmn, no advice to share I'm afraid. I'm starting to wonder how it is that we have always been so lucky with our connections. We don't pay too much and don't have any problems.

Maybe my phone is broken though...it won't ring....

Try cable - we have neighbourhood cable and it's great.

oh no - how frustrating! I get totally fed up even just when the pictures won't load or things seem slow!
Hope you can find a better solution =)

only other thing I could think of would be cable, but that sometimes isn't cheap either.

And here I was thinking the Gods had only targeted my internet connection...

Cam I'm having EXACTLY the same thing/problem at the moment!!! I'm on wireless and it is a total waste of money. THe only thing stopping me going back to broadband is the fact you have to pay a big fee if you break the contract.....It is sooo annoying!!!

Cam, a friend has just had broadband connected and has no home phone connection. She uses Voice over IP for her home phone (which we use too and its very cheap). I think she is with iinet. Mr HB - super-tech-geek he is - loves all this stuff ... I can ask him for some advice if you like! He'd be in his element :)

Hi there! I have Mobile Broadband from 3 (and admittedly I live in a capital city so I'm not sure if there are 'issues' in other service areas), and it's only about $26 per month (obvy different plans available depending on download amount required - I think mine is somewhere between 2 and 4 gig) and it's AWESOME. If you are not a 3 customer you have to pay for the memory stick thingy, but I really havent had any dramas with it. Even after I broke the memory stick thingy and had to pull it apart and put it together :O (P.S. - I also do not work for 3, LOL! Am just impressed with their offering..I swear!).

I feel for you! When we moved back we tried many of the different wireless networks and despite being in a capital city still had trouble. There were lots of tears I can tell you!

We broke down and got the phone connected so that we could then get broadband which we've set up as wireless through the house. We're paying $50 (plus the phone) a month, have more download limit than we use and are really happy with the connection.
