Roll Up Roll Up

Your sleeves that is!

Did you know that it's National Blood Donor Awareness Week?

Every four weeks I have an infusion of Intragam P (or liquid gold as us recipients like to call it). It keeps me healthy as I have an antibody deficiency and can't fight off viruses and bacteria without it.

Intragam is made from the plasma component of blood and contains replacement antibodies which are used to treat not only primary immune system deficiencies, but also a variety of autoimmune disorders.

Every four weeks when I go in for an infusion, I post an Instagram of my Intragam. Yes, it's true.... it doesn't take much to amuse me. In fact, if you search for #intragam on Instagram, you just get random photos from people who can't spell when they hashtag.

Looking back through my photos and making a collage is a great reminder to be eternally grateful, and makes me appreciate blood donors even more.

If you've made it this far, then call 131495 and make an appointment, or you can even book online.

Cute idea for instagram photos!!
I can't donate (mad cow risk from living in the UK) but know that I used to and I would if I could!!

I have a iron overload in my blood and only way to fix it, is blood donation every 3 months. Someone somewhere is benefiting from my blood

Love your collage! I know I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for blood donors. An operation that went a little wrong, could have bled out on the table, but some anonymous person saved my life. Please, if you can, donate!

I notice these on your instagram but didn't really know what intragram was for! Now i do! Blood donation is something I really want to do...I'm the universal donor so I know my blood will be put to good use...It's just the time factor being a stay at home mum and all...but thanks for the prompt...I think I'll make that call now!

That would amuse me greatly as well. I wish I could donate blood, I've tried before I got ill and my veins wouldn't cooperate, they kept collapsing. And now my blood is no good to anyone. I am envious of people who can donate, it's such an easy thing to do and such an ultimately amazing gift you can give.

Wow, I have never heard of Intragram, but what amazing stuff!
Would love to donate but with two autoimmune diseases and permanently on medication my blood is not wanted.... although I do encourage my hubby to do it!
