Mocking Up

I've been playing around in photoshop again over the weekend. It's actually quite fun (especially when I turn my study into a little hotbox on a freezing cold day). 'Tis quite cosy in there...

Anyhow... I've been thinking about what I would like my website to look like (when I actually HAVE a website that is).

It's just going to be a simple front page. I don't want any detail here, as the buttons will lead you on to the detail.

For me, as a user, the best websites are very clear, concise, easy to read, and easy to navigate. But, I also really want it to be something that I've designed myself. There's a sense of satisfaction that comes with it being your own work.

Anyway, this is just my first mock-up. I'd love to know what you think, and what your opinions are on the best types of websites.

I like it. It has the most important things at the top. It is easy to read and uses selling colours. As you say their is no ambiguity about it. Some people like to know certain facts about businesses though that you have missing eg, sustainability, history of the business, environmental impact. Could you add an about button somewhere even if it is just a flat oval? I'm digging that font too. Cherrie

I like the colours and the font but to my eyes it's a bit crowded as it is. I think it needs a bit more space between buttons, particularly on the top line. It looks cramped and I really have to read carefully to see which button is which. Then again, it may just be my eyes, but I guess we are all different.

Meant to add that the buttons down current left side bar make their function very plain at a glance. There's a lot more space around them.

Looks fab - can't believe that you did it yourself (do I see a new career on the horizon as a graphic designer!?!?)

Maybe you could try a flower formation. With the smaller circles surrounding the larger circle like petals.
