Addendum....

The not so fine print....... just so that we all know........ recycling or re-using things that others no longer need or want is considered THEFT!

That can't be right. Can it? I've found so many treasures on the nature strip!

Silly, isn't it? I'm just as happy for someone to take my "useless things" and make them useful as I am to use other people's cast-offs.

That's crazy isn't it?? Imagine being thrown in the clink for rifling through some tossed out rubbish. Ridiculous.

Ridiculous. They do a second-hand Sunday here, where you put your unwanted stuff on the nature strip, register on the website, and anyone can take it.

You do have to wonder why the council think its so much better for things to end up as landfill?!

Well lock me up then! This is so ridiculous, they should be encouraging people to collect it so it doesnt end up in that great ole landfill pile which is doing us so much damage!
Hopefully your council doesnt actually enforce this silly rule and you can find some treasures without being arrested.

What breaks my heart is the trucks CRUSH everything and don't even take the good stuff to the recycling shop.
I think scavaging is banned by most councils as they don"t like the mess left by the night time frenzy!

In the notice I received, it even goes so far as to _encourage_ people to notify the police if they see someone going through hard rubbish. I was gobsmacked!

Crazy isn't it?
I was really pleased to see people haul off all our unwanted stuff before the Council collected it. I even helped them load it.
