This is.......my favourite childrens book

It was really really hard to choose just one.....so I managed to choose this 3-in-1 book.

I always loved Enid Blyton books when I was younger but these three classics are my absolute all time favourites. I always wanted to live at the top of the Faraway Tree too....

There are also some honourable mentions that I cannot forget:

  • Roald Dahl - The Twits
  • Sue Townsend - The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4

Ahhhhh...memories....

Thanks to Pottymouthmama for this weeks fab theme and to Angela for hosting!

I love Enid Blyton - so much so, that I wrote a thesis about her books at uni. And coincidentally I was just thinking that the spread at your Thornbury Sewing Bonanza yesterday looked remarkably similar to something Ms Blyton would have described!!

How can one forget the amazing adventures at the top of the Faraway Tree?! I'll always remember the washing lady that lived in the tree and tipped her washing water down amongst its branches. hehehe... thanks for the smiley memories.

Oh I LOVE Enid Blyton and the faraway tree stories. My eldest ds once went to book week fair as Saucepan man. It was a hoot!

I have to admit though that when I was a kid the Wishing Chair was my favourite one.

Enid Blyton has entertained so many readers with her magical tales....I loved curling up with her books for most of my childhood. I loved her naughtiest girl series and Amelia Jane - the naughty dolly.

My eldest son loved Adrian Mole when HE was a teen. None of mine read Enid Blyton as children in England, but I read some Roald Dahl. Must look out for The Twits...sounds good.

Great choice! Its hard to go past Enid Blyton.
I read those three stories to my boys last year and they loved them. I also like how each chapter is a perfect before bed length.
