Just in time for.....errrrr Spring?

It's taken me quite a while but I finally finished this scarf for my little sister....... I think the weather will stay cold for a little while yet so she might actually be able to use it this year.

I think this is scarf number seven. I've lost count. One of these days, I'm actually going to sit down and tackle one of the knitting patterns that Jess sent me. Another one to add to the 'To Do' list!

Also found something interesting in the paper today.....check out this article

Still plenty of time for scarf wearing - it's freezing out today!

Hear hear, say no to cheap throwaway clothes! I'm thinking they need to rephrase the slogan to "make, mend and do".

The scarf is perfect :)

Love the scarf!

That's a really good article. It's funny, just recently I was thinking that I really should start darning socks again. I used to do it when I was a kid, I remember the mending basket that mum always had.

Beautiful scarf. Luckily (?) I don't think the weather is going to get warm any time soon!

Great article that you linked to. I'm all for a bit of refashion. And its a good reminder to learn a bit more about handy stuff like invisble mending. There's an art to to good repairs!

Funny..I just tossed a load of socks the other day, but I was holding them up for a second, wondering how my darning skills would go. :p I know the principles, but it's been years since I practiced! lol Luckily for me, they were dh's work socks, which means so grey and covered in polyurethane, it's really not worth the bother anyway! :p
