The Hills are Alive.....

With the Sound of Music....

Lastnight was 'Singalong Sound of Music' at Hamer Hall at the Arts Centre.
It was absolutely hilarious and a fantastic girls night out. There were lots and lots of people in costumes and some had gone to a lot of trouble to make them!

We all received a bag of goodies to help us as we watched the movie and sang along.
A picture of Maria to wave when the nuns sing "How do you solve a problem like Maria"?
A piece of curtain fabric to wave around when the kids first come out of the gate dressed in their new play clothes.
A ticket to the Captains Ball to wave around during the party scenes.
A piece of Eidelweiss to use when Captain Von Trapp was singing (you guessed it) Eidelweiss!
We also had a party popper that we had to pop when Maria and the Captain first kissed!

We had to hiss at the baroness, boo the nazis, and bark like a dog at Ralph.

Helen Razer did the introduction (dressed like Kurt Von Trapp). I hadn't seen her on anything for years and she was really really funny......

The audience was really into it and made it lots and lots of fun. Can't wait for the next one!

That would have been amazing! Last time I went to see The Sound Of Music it was 8 years ago and Lisa McCune (spell check there) was the lead. It was so marvellous, nothing beats seeing a play live!

That sounds great. I've looked at in Sydney a couple of times but never done it.

I am so glad someone else in the world has done this and knows what a blast it is. It came through Boston about 6 years ago. I had never heard of anything like it, and had a fantastic time. I loved the goodie bag and was amazed to discover that though I hadn't actually watched the movie in years I still knew every song and a lot of the words. If it ever comes here again I am dressing up! S glad you had such a good time! Love Stacy
