Does the size of the bag tell the story?

I toddled off to Spotlight thismorning to buy myself a cutting knife for the Hoppo Bumpo stencil-along.....
I had completely run out of polyfill so I grabbed a small size bag...

I must say that I was very dissapointed. My local Spotlight usually has 6 remnant bins spread throughout the different fabric sections, but today there were only 2 (I'm assuming that they hid the other 4 out the back so they can bring them back out tomorrow when it's not 20% off)! I rifled through them and found myself some corduroy and some denim.

I bought some printed flannel to make some baby wraps. There wasn't much of a selection in the flannel today either...

Some gingham and spots to make bias binding.....

.....a couple of prints just because they were cute.

....and I almost forgot....but I did find a cutting knife with 8 spare blades...perfect!

2 weeks ago at spotlight Ballarat there was at least 4 bins of remnants and last week only 1 bin... Dodgy!
My fav is the skull flannel and the trucks on the checkered blue, very cute!

I love the spots. I must admit I indulged at Spottie too. How could I help myself, I feel like I have been in a fabric blurr for the last few days.

For this exact reason I stayed away! I can never just stick to 'one thing' when I go to Spotlight!

Why oh why did I only hear about 20% off at Spotty on the last day of the sale? Quel horreur!

It's okay - I already spent too much money at Gail B's today anyway. But I must admit, Spotty is a bit of a guilty indulgence (just like watching day-time TV!)

Dig the gingham trucks and all those spots!

Yes, I stayed away on purpose too! Love all those polka dots you picked up. Oh, and at least you remembered to get a craft blade, too...

I think you have shown great self-control!

I need some bias binding and I keep thinking its only 5pm, I still have time to rush into SL before the sale is over. But I know I wouldn't just come home with the binding!

I've just been reading through the other comments and am now wondering where this Gail B's is? Is there another place I need to visit!?

Yeah - it's like me at the supermarket; you go there to buy some milk and come home with half the shop!!

BTW just wanted to let you know that I've had a fabulous response to my vintage button giveaways, so I'm going to draw the winners this Saturday night, 18th, rather than waiting til the 25th. If you could update that on your blog I'd appreciate it,
cheers

I have to say I think Australia does the best flannelette fabric EVER! Please will someone hide me a bolt of that pirate stuff so I can get some at Christmas time????? Please?

Hurrah for remembering the knife! My usual style is to forget the thing I actually went for. I like that little lion fabric- if my Bug saw that he would say "Roar"!

what a wonderful shopping spree you've had. You are brave going to Spotlight on a 20% off day, I can't stand the waiting to be served on a normal day!! Maybe it's just our Spotlight that is like that

I agree with Linda. You've got to be waiting when the doors open or there's no chance of service at my Spotty.

We discussed it at work today, and decided the queues at Spotlight are bad enough on a normal day... but it looks like you made it WELL WORTH the trip. And if it were me, I'd have finally reached home and realised I'd forgotten the knife.

okay pea green with jealousy now. I was thinking that it would be great to be kid free to pop in and see what I could grab....maybe next time.

I love the visit to Spotlight ... always a bit of a scary thought as I too never know what I will come out with & more times than not not bring home what I 'really' went there for ... loved the idea of the stencils on the T-shirt ... will that work with our ordinary supermarket freezer paper, do you know? OOroo ... Bethel of Bethania
